Jasper
Jasper is normally considered a chalcedony the name is from greek and means spotted stone. It is found in a varity of colours and is made up of nearly 20% of foregin materials. used mostly for ornamental objects in can be found in cabochon and sliced polished forms for jellery and Beads.
The stripped banded varity has a tendence to split along the bands. Uniformly coloured jasper is rare found normally multicoloured or with strips.
Its mohls hardness is 6.5-7 and has a refractive index of about 1.54 |
