Prehnitegemstonewas named after a Dutch Colonel h. von prehn. It is better know as a collecters gemstone when included with rutile but is available without inclusions and also a cats eye is know to occur. Again this gem is known to fade in strong sun light.
It has a mohls hardness of 6-6.5 and a refractive index of 1.611-1.669
